Tips on coping with stress at work
Here are a few steps on coping with stress at work to remain healthy and productive.
1. Play Music. Most of today’s work equipment the computer and cell phone have music facilities that workers can fall back on to reduce stress and distraction. Get soft music that can help you concentrate on your job to avert stress.
2. Walk the stairs. At any time when your output or health is threatened by stress, stretch your legs by walking briskly up and down the stairs. This eases flow of blood and re-energises you.
3. Idle talk. Most employers and employees think that office chat is time wasting, but this is not always the case. When tension mounts, a few minutes chat-up with a colleague can refuel the engine and make for greater productivity
4. Glance at the telly. Most offices are equipped with television sets. This is not just for visitors, the tv set could call back a straying mind to work or ignite passion for work in the midst of stress.
5. Do Social Media. Chatting-up someone online could diffuse tension and get the mind back at work at a much freer level. Care must be taken not to be carried away by spending too long a time on the social media.
