Stay Fit at Work
Step 1
Eat breakfast. It’s easy to get so busy that you don’t take time to eat the most important meal of the day, but health experts everywhere shout that an important step in losing weight and staying in shape is to eat breakfast.
Step 2
Pack your lunch. The majority of people go out to eat for lunch every day during the week. While most restaurants now have healthy alternatives, it is still easy to consume more calories and fat grams than if you packed your own lunch. This way you can choose healthy, delicious options and prepare them in the correct serving sizes.
Step 3
Stock your desk with healthy snacks. Even if you eat breakfast and lunch, you’re probably still going to find the need to munch on something during the day to give you an added boost. In fact, it’s good for you to energize yourself throughout the day – as long as your choices are healthy. Bring some fruit or nuts to give yourself something to tide you over until the next meal.
Step 4
Find a buddy. One of the best ways to keep yourself on track is to find another co-worker to encourage you on your weight loss journey. If you’re feeling tempted by the donuts in the breakroom or wanting to order that fatty hamburger at lunch, your “buddy” can help to remind you of your goals. Plus, it’s nice to have someone else ordering healthy meal with you when everyone else gets to eat whatever they want!
Step 5
Take a break. Sitting at your desk for eight hours can become mentally exhausting, leaving you feeling too tired to workout at the end of the day. Give your mind a break and take a walk around the office or go outside and get some fresh air if you can. Use your lunch break to go for a walk or head to the gym for an hour. You will feel rejuvenated and ready to tackle whatever lays ahead for you that afternoon.
