Welcome Centre: A Warm Welcome to Events Management

As Sprite drew fun loving Nigerians to the Welcome Centre & Hotels Ltd. for the grand finale of the 2010 Sprite Triple Slam, M2′s Ndubuisi Eluwa takes a look at the magnificent venue which beautifully complemented the highly successful event.

The just concluded Sprite Triple Slam 2010 grand finale was a worthy avenue for the public to experience the convivial reception and luxury of the newly opened Welcome Centre & Hotels Ltd, WCH, venue of the event.
Strategically located along International Airport Road, Mafoluku-Oshodi, Lagos, The Welcome Centre is about two and four minutes drive from the International and Local airports respectively. Guests at the event were astounded by the state of the art features in the hotel’s 2,500 capacity multipurpose theatre, and the air conditioning maintained a cool atmosphere in spite of the huge crowd and hyper activity that characterize such shows.
As judges including hip hop star, El dee (for music), Dance Na D Main Thing’s Michael (for dance), and Bolaji Akiode (basket ball) awarded the top prize of 6million to Street Maniacs from Calabar who emerged winners in this year’s event, security never wavered even amid the overwhelming cheering and fanfare.  M2 gathers that the winning team will also feature in a basket ball team music video. Outside, eagle eyed security operatives also kept close watch over cars and kept the compere, Kevin Pam of Big Brother Africa fame, regularly informed on vehicle movement.
Jefferson Fistcher, Sales and Marketing Director of WCH, explains that the hotel has taken careful steps to put the events place at its peak because it understands “that holding an event is more than just providing a hall. We know preparing for an event can be hard work; locating and coordinating all the services you’ll need, managing the details, handling special requests from your own clients  the list goes on. Here at the Welcome Centre, we can help.” And help it indeed provides!
