It’s About Time To Do The Same Old Things With A New ‘SWAG’!

About Time, the house journal of Verdant Zeal, brings freshness to marketing communications. Described as the official scrap book of the company, the journal primarily celebrates the people – who are the company; their work, successes, challenges and essence.
From its balanced colour scheme through to the creative use of photography, the magazine is certainly an attention-grabber. The clear and concise language also makes it easy to read while successfully enhancing its engaging content.
In the Editorial Pad, the Editor, Samson, distinctly sets out the focus of the edition in review, a characteristic that runs throughout the magazine. Other columns include an exposé on the experiences of new recruits, interviews with staff; Chronicles, a tribute to currently outstanding company staff and a re-cap of the company visit to the Republic of Benin, all beautifully illustrated with photography. Staff also expressed their ingenuity via poetry and features writing.
The public is not left out as the magazine includes an update on the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility project, the Good Cheer Initiative (GCI), news on current events in global advertising, guest interviews and insightful business development tips.
Perhaps, the best attribute of the journal is its shrewd presentation of the company to the target public devoid of the obtrusive use of in-house jargons and anecdotes which often become the death knell of similar publications. Nevertheless, more attention needs to be paid to picture quality particularly as regards their sharpness.
As Muyiwa Familoni of the company’s Creative Department aptly enthuses: it is good to research new ways to get the same old things done but with swag! In all, About Time, in its third edition, is vigorously pursuing its vision of supporting the advancement of marketing communications business.
