Zain and Paltel Partner on ‘One Network’

About four million subscribers on the networks of Celtel and Palestine’s Paltel would have the chance of enjoying ‘one network’ across Jordan and Palestine, starting from this month. This allows Zain’s subscribers “to be billed as local clients for voice and data services and receive free incoming calls when traveling to any country covered by the Zain network.”
Zain plans to extend this unique offering across the 22 countries where it currently operates. Saad Al Barrak, Zain Group’s CEO, while signing the memorandum of understanding on behalf of his company at a ceremony in Jordan, said: “Once again, we are redefining the notion of mobile telecommunication coverage, making roaming services accessible to all. In doing so, we are fulfilling our brand promise of ‘A wonderful world’.”
Feelers from Zain Nigeria reveal that details of the benefits of the ‘One Network’ will be announced when the full service is launched commercially on February 1, 2010.
