TruContact’s CSR Training for March

Martins Okoh-

TruContact Communications, a Nigerian-based strategic marketing and communications solutions firm, in collaboration with Sustainability Advisory Group (SAG) UK, is facilitating a strategic training programme aimed at positioning the 21st century Corporation through sustainability learning and development.
According to Ken Egbas, TruContact’s managing partner, “the training is being organised to give companies who want to take the lead a good start in 2010.”  Leading the formidable team of facilitators is SAG’s founding president, Maria Sillanpaa, whose recent number three ranking in CSR International’s global top 100 leaders’ category reflects her profound and continuing impact in the field of sustainability management.
Throwing more insight on the training, Mr. Egbas says: “The world spotlight both globally and in Nigeria is on business accountability. The recent financial crisis has revealed traditional governance and risk management systems to be inadequate. This is particularly true in Nigeria where the business community is facing a number of corporate governance challenges.
“At the same time, the community is becoming   acutely aware that business has not been shouldering the true cost of its social and environmental impacts.
The training programme will therefore afford participants the opportunity to acquire the skills necessary to promote shareholder value, enhance corporate reputation and attract customers.
The programme is scheduled for Monday & Tuesday, 22rd and 23rd, and Thursday and Friday, 25th and 26th March, 2010, at Protea Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.
