The Village Headmaster Plans Comeback

The Village Headmaster, a drama series which was put to rest in the 80′s will soon begin to grace the grace the airwaves.
In a chat with Tunde Olojede, the longest serving producer of the drama series, M2 gathered that plans to resurrect the drama series have been on for about four years. “We have been working on it for the past four years, and the process has been taking some time. At the moment, we are talking with people who are interested in sponsoring it.”
Pointing out that the new Village Headmaster will still maintain the village life though with some forms of modernization, Olojede says, “the public will see a village head master that has seen a lot of transformation, not transformation in the characters because they will still be there, but transformation in terms of modernization.”
He further adds that Oja will be like any other Nigerian village. “Unlike those days when only one vehicle will ply the route in a week, now we will have Okada; Oja will have electricity which was not there before. We would have banks as well as medical and health care institutions; not just one doctor that comes on clinic days.  There won’t be any more quack doctors like Dr. Bassey Okon. It will involve various happening that are being canvassed in the society such as NDG’s.”
Speaking with M2, Ambassador Segun Olushola, one of the initial producers of the drama series could not hide his excitement as he said “I am thinking of bringing it back as a writer; I hope very soon we will see another series of Village Meadmaster.”
The Village Headmaster which first hit the airwaves in 1964 was rested after twenty years of broadcast.
