Raymond Dokpesi Annual Lecture Set to Hold
In a bid to enhance electronic media practice in Nigeria and in Africa as a whole, the Raymond Dokpesi Annual Lecture and Awards ceremony has been scheduled to hold on the 21st of October in Abuja.
Speaking with M2, Christopher Ebuetse, national coordinator and lecture chairman, points out that the reason for the annual lecture is to get Nigerians to understand that the driving force for development in any country is the electronic media. “Information is a strong parameter for development and that is what we hope to communicate.” On what the lecture will focus on, Ebuetse adds that the role that private electronic media can play in the 2011 elections, among other issues, will be discussed.
He further points out that the awards ceremony, which will also take place on the same day as the lecture, is “to encourage Nigerians, individuals, government and corporate bodies to buy into the thematic thrust of the electronic media.
To bring to practical terms and create awareness on what the lecture is about, an endurance trek has been scheduled for the 7th of October in Lagos.
