Qibu Circus Provides Novel Experiential Platform

The Chinese Qibu Circus Troupe alongside its Nigerian counterparts is offering brand managers in Nigeria a refreshingly different platform for stakeholder engagement.
In his address to business correspondents penultimate weekend, Ebun Roberts, CEO of Cranes and Ladders Limited, the programme sponsors, asserts that the circus will be embarking on a 90 day tour as the “first phase of a long term plan to further grow and deepen the Nigerian entertainment industry which will ultimately boost the contribution of the entertainment industry to Nigeria’s gross domestic product.”
According to him, the troupe and a select team of Nigerian acrobats and traditional dancers will cover six major cities including Lagos, Abuja , Port Harcourt , Enugu , Kaduna , and Calabar from October to December 2010.
Also at the briefing, Tosin Olukoga, executive director of Cranes and Ladders, states that the show will be the biggest circus show ever, calling on discerning corporate organizations to further build their brand equity by investing in a refreshingly different property that will pull a large following. “This is the time for enlightened corporate organizations to come in and help develop this important sector of the arts. It is a hot property, both from the point of view of corporate social responsibility, and from the point of view of marketing. I believe that this is why we have been receiving the level of requests for partnering.”
According to Roberts, in addition to the financial and experiential benefits that will accrue directly to sponsors and Nigerian acts involved, the initiative will also boost tourism as the art form takes root in Nigeria.
