Okoya Thomas Charges Media Practitioners at HR Guide Launch
Top business man and Chairman of Chemical and Allied Products (CAP) Plc, Chief Molade Okoya Thomas, has charged media practitioners in Nigeria on the need for excellence in the practice of journalism so that the truth can always prevail. Chief Okoya gave the charge during the launch of HR (Human Resources) Guide, which held recently in Lagos.
Speaking to the audience made up of HR professionals and pressmen, at Protea Hotel in Lagos, Okoya pointed out that telling the truth can save the country from a lot of problems. “Some of the ills that pervade our country is caused by the people in the media because most of the time, they don’t tell the story the way it is. I know that some media men are afraid of being locked up for telling the truth, but facing the fact, one of the ways to stop the rot in the system is by telling the home truth. So I say to the media practitioners, tell the truthful and be factual.”
In response to the call, Nap Omomila, Managing Editor of HR Guide, promised that the magazine will not shy away from telling the truth at all times. He further adds that the magazine, which is published on a bi weekly basis, promises to be of immense help to HR managers, recruiting agencies and job seekers.
