Noodles: Tummy Tummy Joins the Competition

The noodles market in Lagos is getting more competitive by the day. A recent M2 weekly open market survey reveals another addition in the segment. The new addition, ‘Tummy Tummy’ is from the stables of Tummy Foods Industries Ltd and comes in two flavours of seafood and chicken.
The survey reveals that the new noodle brand in 120g packs is yet to gain sizeable shelf presence. But a sales girl in the only shop where the new noodle brand was sighted at Ojuwoye Market, Mushin, though declined speaking for her boss, managed to disclose that, “Tummy Tummy has been in the market for about three months now.” This situation, according to market watchers does not portend good for a new brand in a competitive noodle market which Lagos has become. Most traders are yet to know about it.
On where else one can get the new noodle, the sales girl says, “So far this is the only place where they have a distribution outlet.” Surprisingly, even in Ojuwoye where the distribution outlet is located, no single noodle retailer had Tummy Tummy on display.
However Monica Ashade, a trader in the market admitted that she knows about the new noodle but disclosed that she simply ignored it as they (noodles) are getting too many in the market now

    Dear Sir/ Madam,
I am a consumer and a fan of your noodles-tummy tummy. I am delighted about the new products and would be interested in distributing it to the consumers so as to get it across to numerous consumers and by far widely circulated and to ensure a rapid marketability of the product both within and outside the country mostly in Abuja where its distribution is not felt.
All I would need is the requirement to that effect.

    Dear Kotec,

Thanks for your new invention of this product, and i swear that i will try all my best to ensure that the Indian product  indomie noodles will be kick out of the conner at all cost and means.  I am working on Tummy noodles  television advert.   Nigeria is old enough that we should trust and depend on our own product not outside product.

I strongly believe that tummy tummy has a strong selling point that the company fails to emphasize. Tummy Tummy, unlike other available brands of noodles in Nigeria, does not melt -up during cooking, but retains its firmness just like spagetti. Also, its seasoning is also outstanding. I particularly love the Seafood variety of the brand. I believe that the company ought to do more in the area of its promotions. If there is need to help, I can initiate and deliver a nation-wide promotional campaign at most minimum cost towards encouraging an enterprise that has benefitted me so much.
