Peak Evaporated Milk in Sachet Fast Gaining Acceptance

Barely few months after its introduction into the milk market, market sources say that Peak Evaporated milk in sachet is fast gaining acceptance especially from low income consumers. This was the outcome of M2 open market survey during the holidays.
At various provision stores visited both in the open markets and residential areas during the survey, Peak Evaporated in sachet was observed to have appreciable shelf presence and traders who spoke to M2 commended its performance in the market within the short time it has been introduced.
At Ojuwoye, Mrs. Abidoye, a trader commended the ingenuity of the makers for coming up with such packaging that has made it possible for those that can not afford the tin to be able to have a taste of liquid Peak milk. She said, “You know Peak in tin is loved by a lot of liquid milk consumers, but the cost of a tin has placed it out of the reach of so many people. So I think it was smart of the owners to find a way of recalling some of the consumers who may have settled for the other affordable brands and I believe that is why it is doing well.”
While Mrs. Abidoye’s opinion was re-echoed at the other markets visited, a trader in Abesan, Ipaja who identified herself as Iyaa Yemisi (Yemisi’s mother) expressed concern that contrary to the N25 price on the advertisements, the actual market price is fast rising. A situation which she says is capable of reducing its patronage considering the size. She recalled that same trend greeted Peak Chocó at the beginning but advised that, “That trend worked for Peak Chocó because there’s no strong competitor in that category, but cannot be said of Peak milk in sachet as Hollandia Pop-pour-throway is still relevant in the market.”
