UBN Earns Royal Endorsement

The reforms in the banking sector might have brought changes in the leadership of Union Bank of Nigeria, but has not lowered the confidence of its high net-worth customers in South East Nigeria.

Funke Osibudu, the bank’s group chief executive officer, recently paid a customer reassuring visit to the region, where notable traditional rulers and leaders expressed confidence in the bank.

HRH Chukwuma Azikiwe, the Owelle of Onitsha, in endorsing the bank, based his trust in UBN on its “pedigree and history of decent, discipline and in-depth management.”

He further stated that banking remains a people oriented business and the bank has quality personnel to propel it forward. His words: “if you decapitate the top management of some organizations”, they would rapidly go into disarray, but Union Bank has what it takes to weather the storm.”

Similarly, John Nwodo Jnr, former Minister of Information, noted that the bank has a reputation of partnering with its customers. Nwodo traced the relationship between the bank and his late father, and said that he and his siblings went to university through the tremendous support of the bank.
