RATTAWU Calls Off Strike Action
The Radio, Television and the Theatre Workers Union (RATTAWU) has called off the strike action which its members embarked on penultimate week.
Reports reaching M2 reveal that union representatives met with the Federal Government, where it was agreed that the government would initially pay 50% of what is owed. The government is however expected to pay the remainder at an undisclosed date.
Speaking on the issue, an NTA staff who asked for anonymity said, “Though we are yet to receive the money, we believe the Federal Government has commenced payment.”
The strike action which is now referred to as something of the past was embarked on by members of RATTAWU following the claims that government refused to pay their monetization arrears for 2003 and 2005.
