Pillow Talk Debuts on Radio

Come October 1, 2009, mature radio listeners will begin to have incisive and informative discussion on sex, sexual health and other related issues through a radio program titled Pillow Talk.

Funmi Akingbade, renowned sex therapist/counsellor, public speaker and marriage counsellor, who is also the presenter of the show, speaking to M2, points out that it is due to the fact that sex issues have been neglected for a very long time, problems arise in marriages and relationships, hence the need for the program. On why the use of radio as the means of communication, she says: “It is to help reach the grassroots and a wider audience as virtually everyone has access to a radio.”

In a chat with M2, Darlene Ugoji, Head of Corporate Affairs, Genesis Studios, producers of Pillow Talk, says: “the radio show is a way of sensitizing people to the importance of sex to the wellbeing of the individual because it sows something to the mind and body and I think it’s going to be like a drug; it’s going to be addictive.”

Pillow Talk which will be delivered in a mature manner will feature 3 segments; Myths & Mysteries, The Art of love, and Sexual and Reproductive Health. It will also provide facts on food, health, age and family as it affects the act of sex.

Pillow Talk is aimed at adults and married couples of all ages. The show will be broadcast on Inspiration FM, Raypower, Classic FM, Rhythm, Radio Continental and 15 other stations around the country. According to the organisers, it is exclusive to people above 18 years of age.
