NAN to Start Mobile Service

As part of its effort to effectively disseminate information to Nigerians, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) will in the next few months introduce a new product called Mobile Service to the public. Mobile Service will involve sending news alerts to the mobile phones of individuals who subscribe to the news agency.

In order to make sure the information sent to the subscribers is relevant to them, the editorial team of NAN will in their own discretion decide what will be news to individual subscribers.

Mobile Service, which is in its test run stage, will alert its subscribers with information on news making headlines in and outside Nigeria, as well as tips on health, sports, economy and weather forecast. The target customers of the NAN Mobile service include the educated, and those in the middle and upper class of the society.
