Maggi Cooking Competition: Winners Emerge in Jos, Enugu

Three teenagers were recently given prizes for coming tops at the Jos edition of the Maggi Cook for Mama competition being sponsored by Nestlé Nigeria Plc, makers of Maggi seasoning brand.

Amaobi Blessing, a 13-year old student of Effective International College, Jos, came first; and was rewarded with a N150, 000 cash prize, a laptop, a set of dishes, an I-pod and a Maggi hamper.

The second prize winner – Maryam Umar, of Trust International School – got N100,000, a portable DVD player, a set of dishes, an I-pod and a Maggi hamper; while Abel Brenda Dachomo, of St. John College, in third position, went home with N50,000, a mobile phone, a set of dishes, an I-pod and a Maggi hamper.

Other seven contestants got consolation prizes of Swatch wristwatches, sets of dishes and Maggi hampers. The Home Economics departments and teachers of the winners’ schools also went home with gifts; with those from which the first, second and third-placed contestants emerged receiving a gas cooker each; while the star prize winner’s school additionally got a deep freezer.

The on-going country-wide Maggi Cook for Mama competition has also produced winners Enugu..

Okenwa Chidera, a student of Notre Dame Academy , Enugu clinched the first prize; while Emmanuel Amarachi of St. Paul De Apostle Secondary School; and Ibik Oyinyechi of St. Vincent De Paul National Secondary School, emerged second and third respectively.
