JCI Unilag Chapter Celebrates 27th Anniversary

Junior Chamber International (JCI), University of Lagos Chapter, penultimate weekend, held her Annual Convention at the Event Centre behind African Shrine, in Alausa-Ikeja, Lagos, to mark its 27th anniversary. Present at the event were Sanator Olorunmibe Marmora (Deputy Minority Leader of Lagos State House of Assembly), who was the chairman of the occasion. Also in attendance were Hon. Kunle Soname, Hon. Dayo Fafumi (Chairman, Apapa Local Government), Hon. Sulaiman Omoyele (Chairman, Bariga LCD),among others. The event also attracted past presidents of JCI and JCI members from different chapters.

Honorable Kunle Somame, while speaking on the theme, “Talent is not enough”, said that talent must go with attitude, doggedness, timeliness, research and rehearsal before it can be meaningful. He also stated that continuous practice teach ability,while humility and good networking will expand it.

The outgoing president of JCI, Olanike Balogun, remarked that “Success is not measured by what one has accomplished but the opposition overcome while trying to succeed.” Speaking further she said that as an entrepreneur, she will impact the community positively because she believes she will be celebrated in her time.

The event saw its end following the induction of a new president and presentation of awards and certificates to outstanding members and corporate organizations.
