Ideas Carnival: 12 to Receive Employment Letter

12 contestants out of over 50 who have entered for the Ideas Carnival being organized by Heartlink Ventures will receive appointment letters on the grand finale of the carnival holding on July 23. According to the Head Consultant, Heartlink Ventures Ltd, Kemi Otegbade, the grand finale will see 12 youths go home with employment letters from reputable firms. In addition, a cheque will be issued to the most talented youth to help him/her start up a business.

The Ideas Carnival which will hold annually, she said, is a concept adopted to solve the problems encountered by the company in its 10 years of recruiting. In her words, “Not all applicants can defend their certificate, but they have got talent. The ones who can defend their certificate but lack experience are not offered opportunity by companies.” Subsequently she hopes to see more youths gainfully employed and more cheques given to participants.

 Some of the companies have also asked that contestants who were not picked be placed on Kept In View (KIV). Lectures on how to develop skill and earn a living with it will also be given at the grand finale.

The project has the Lagos State government as its major sponsor. Other sponsors are, OA Consulting, Close-Up, M2, Hints, AIT, The News and LCDA
