CPC Confiscates Fake Products in Aba

Fake products and equipments worth millions of naira have been confiscated by the Consumers Protective Council (CPC) in Aba, Abia State. The Zonal Co-ordinator, South East, CPC, Nigeria, Mr. John Tamunobelema Tamunokonbia, who led CPC officials and security men to the cemetery market Eziuku, the venue of the recent raid, said that plans are on the way to involve the State Government and the market authorities in the fight.

At the end of the raid, Mr. Tamunokonbia explained to the press that the raid followed the surveillance report which shows that the culprits had gone back to business after the council’s first raid in January this year. The fake items got from the shops include; fake Peak milk powder, Milo drinks, and assorted types of wine and other drinks. Equipments such as generators and drugs were also confiscated.

He also announced plans by the council to raid other markets, within and outside the state where similar activities were on going.
