Chartered Marketing Communications Institute Holds Retreat
As part of its effort towards giving Nigeria a different name and maintaining a high standard in the marketing communications industry, the Chartered Marketing Communications Institute of Nigeria (CMCIN) will hold an Integrated Marketing Communication Stakeholders/ Mandatory Continuous Education Retreat on Thursday, September 24, 2009.
The programme, tagged “Challenges of Integrated Marketing Communications & Rebranding Process in 21st Century”, will have distinguished Nigerians speaking on various issues that affect Nigeria and the IMC industry. Some of the speakers include Professor Dora Akunyili, Minister of Information & Communication; Mr Lolu Akinwunmi, Managing Director, Prima Garnet Ogilvy; and Rasheed Bolarinwa, Head, Brand Management, Cornerstone Insurance Plc.
Speaking on the reason for the retreat, Professor Dayo Alao, National President and Chairman, Governing Council of CMCIN, points out that “it is high time we stopped paying lip service to the rebranding process in Nigeria. What we need is good leadership and excellent national orientation. We therefore appeal to the Federal Government to seek the opportunity of what the institute offers to re-brand Nigeria.”
CMCIN’s 6th Special Induction Award Ceremony will also hold on the same day.
