Capital Express Holds AGM, Promises Greater Performance

The eighth annual general meeting (AGM) of Capital Express Assurance Limited, a frontline life assurance company, was held at the Metropolitan Club, Victoria Island on Wednesday 19 August 2009.
Otunba Ademola Adenuga, the company’s Chairman, presided over the meeting. The management was lauded for the good financials presented to members at the meeting.
The chairman pointed out that the company’s projections at the seventh AGM were thwarted by supervening economic circumstances. His words: “This was hinged on the projection that Africa presents huge potentials for effective market expansions considering positive indications of rising disposable incomes, growing middle class and large population of young people as factors that will drive up sales of savings and protection products.”
The board and management are resolved to carry on with optimism. According to Anthony Aletor, the company’s Group Managing Director, in spite of the challenges of 2008, the company is setting the tone for greater accomplishments ahead.
Aletor’s words: “We believe that the infrastructure development achievements in the period will provide a platform for real growth in the medium to long term and we are confident that our Nigerian operations will continue on the growth path.”
