Busy Life of Lagosians Creates Market for Noodles

The busy lifestyle of Lagosians is creating a huge market for noodle brands, noodle sellers have said. In a market survey by M2, last week, the sellers said that despite the economic situation, the avalanche of noodle brand in the market are still enjoying good patronage.

M2 gathered that aside from cooking very fast, noodles are relatively cheaper and affordable foods. Consumers at different locations who spoke to M2 could not agree more. Mr. Sunny, a staff of Guinness Plc, said he takes his noodles every day as he does not always have time to do long cooking. Parents said that children love noodle so much that they don’t want to eat any other thing. Busy mothers find noodles a fast and cheap means of putting food in their children’s lunch box.

Most dealers who spoke to M2 unanimously voted Indomie noodles as no 1 choice for consumers but differed on which brand is giving Indomie a run for its money.

Among the different noodle brands currently in the market are Indomie noodles, Chikki, Mimee, O! Noodles, Sun yum, Chefmie, Cherie Uno and Star noodles.
