Business Skill Consulting Group Advocates Training Evaluation

The Chief Learning Officer and Principal Consultant, Business Skill Consulting Group, Dr. Mike Olokun, has called on the Resource Persons and Training managers to always do proper evaluation of training, as that will help the trainees transfer the knowledge and skills gained in training to their jobs.
While delivering a lecture titled “Towards Effective Learning, Delivery and Transfer,” at the Resource Persons and Training Managers Forum organized by Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, in CIPMN House, Alausa, Ikeja, Dr. Mike said that the success of any organization depends mainly on its ability to maximize its human potentials. He said that transfer of learning is the effective and continuing application of what is learnt by trainees to their jobs, in order to improve their performance in the work place. In his words, “transfer of learning is the process that ensures that 100% transfer of knowledge, skills, and attitude to their jobs, acquired during learning intervention by the trainees, is applied on their jobs, for high level performance growth of their organization.”
He further pointed out that in order to make training effective, there should be motivation, ability and competence training design, re- enforcement and support from the co-workers, trainers and the supervisors.
