ADVAN Holds AGM, Appoints New President
The Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN), penultimate Friday, held its Annual General Meeting (AGM), at the Eko Hotels, Lagos.
As part of the AGM, a paper titled ‘Vison 2020: The Role of the Advertiser’ was delivered by Dr. Reuben Abati, Chairman Editorial Board, The Guardian Newspaper. According to him, the federal government’s Vision 2020 which aims at making Nigeria the 20th largest economy by the year 2020 is in tandem with the objectives of advertisers who are often concerned with producing goods and services, marketing them and creating a value for their business and brands.
Abati explained that advertisers can partner with the federal government to realize the Vision 2020 through the designing of the vision, communication of the vision, implementation of the vision and monitoring cum evaluation of the vision.
The AGM also witnessed the decoration of Mr. Idonrenyen Enang, the new president of the pressure group, with other members of the executive. Outstanding media organizations who complied with the ethics of media placement and agreement were also awarded at the event.
