AAAN holds Creative Awards Seminar in Lagos
The Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), last week, held the 2009 edition it’s Annual Creative Awards Seminar.
Among the eminent senior practitioners who graced the occasion were General Manager, MTN, Mr. Kola Oyeyemi; Chief Executive Officer, Prima Garnet Ogilvy, Mr. Lolu Akinwunmi; Chief Executive Officer, DVWORK, Mr. Femi Odugbemi; Group Chief Executive Officer, SO& U Saatchi & Saatchi, Mr. Udeme Ufot; Chief Marketing officer, First Bank Plc., Mrs. Celine Loader; and Chief Executive Officer TBWA/Concept, Mr. Kelechi Nwosu.
Topics like Stuff Creativity: I Just Want to Sell, Is It Better Shot Abroad, How Dare You Challenge Me, and The Face of a New Client on the Block was discussed during the seminar in order to bridge the communication gap between the clients and agencies on the one hand, and agencies and media owners on the other hand. The creative award seminar and exhibition is part of events that will lead up to the Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival (LAIF) Award Dinner, scheduled to hold on September 26, 2009 at Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.
According to the AAAN President, Mr. Funmi Onabolu, the Creative Awards Seminar, which was initiated in 2005 to fill a critical gap in creative ratings, was instituted with the intention of encouraging practitioners to greater heights in the development of strong and original ideas, as well as executing them.
