Facility Upgrade at MITV

As part of efforts to upgrade its facilities and improve on its level of productivity, Murhi International Television (MITV) has acquired new transmitters.

Speaking with M2, the management of the TV station says that the acquisition of the new transmitters is to help boost signal distribution and reception by and from the station.

MITV, a privately owned television station which started broadcast in 1996 became one of the earliest privately owned stations to grace the TV broadcast airwaves in Nigeria. However, it would be noted that, over time, the station, due to the somewhat lack-lustre quality of its broadcast facilities, has not measured up to standard and has been pushed to the background by new entrants.

It is hoped that acquisition of these transmitters will help the station to regain lost grounds. MITV programmes are also aired on Canadian satellite stations such as Jump TV and Geog TV.
