Eko Today May Return Soon

As part of efforts to tell the Lagos story in its prosper perspective, the Lagos State House of Assembly (LSHA) is making plans to resurrect Eko Today, a state-owned weekly newspaper which folded early 2000.
Speaking on the steps taken by the Lagos State Government to revive the newspaper, Ahmed Omisore, Chairman of the House Committee on Information, says the Lagos Printing Press has to be revived before further steps can be taken. “The equipment we have at the Lagos Printing Press is obsolete and we have invited an engineering company to take a look at what we have on ground and consult with us on other machines we need to buy.”
Emphasizing the need to have a printing press in place before the newspaper comes back, Omisore points out that “ Lagos is a big market for any printing press as 70% of the newspapers that exist in the country are printed in Lagos .” He also mentioned that A Lagos Horizon newspaper will equally be revived.
