CNN to Set Up Office at International Media Center
Following the recent launch of Abu Dhai International Media Center, a 200, 000 square-meter campus in the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, officials of Cable Network News (CNN) have announced that it is ready to shift part of its production activities to the center.
Reports reveal that CNN, in a bid to shore up the number of cities it has the license to produce studio broadcast from, will move nearly thirty of its staff members to Abu Dhabi, and will begin broadcasting a prime-time news show from the city on CNN International.
The Abu Dhabi Media Zone, which was built by government to house foreign media companies, already accommodates some international media houses like the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), The Financial Times and Thomson Reuters Foundation.
The creation of this campus puts Abu Dhabi one step closer to reaching its goal of becoming a cultural and media centre for the Middle East as the Media Zone will not only offer training for journalists but also be a base for Western companies to conduct business.
