In a bid to encourage and improve on the creativity of aspiring professionals in the industry and get clients more involved, Chini Production, representative of the Cannes Lions in Nigeria, has introduced a training programmed tagged Lions League and a new category in the Roger Hatchuel & Young Lions Competition.
The Lions League which is schedule to start in March will bring together aspiring advertising professionals for a week. According to the Managing Director of Chini Production, Nnamdi Ndu, applicants will be given a test which will be administered by APCON and the best will qualify to attend the Cannes Lions Festival in France.
The Roger Hatchuel & Young Lions which feature film, Cyber and Media category now includes Marketing. “The Marketing category is introduced to train people from the client’s side. Participants will be required to produce briefs that an agency can work on,” Ndu says.
The film category requires participant to submit 30 to 60 seconds of an advert material shot and edited with a mobile phone; the cyber category requires cyber adverts while the media also requires media presentations; the best in each category will get an opportunity to attend the Cannes Lions in June. DDB won the Film category last year, while Media Reach won the Media category.
