Chain Reactions Charges NIPR on Standards

Chain Reactions Nigeria, a budding PR and reputation management firm, has called on the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to evolve practical steps to enforce standards in the industry.
Israel Jaiye Opayemi, chief strategist, Chain Reactions Nigeria, who made this known while receiving students of the School of Communications, Lagos State University, during a study visitation to the company says: “NIPR must demonstrate the will to enforce standards just as its counterparts in the advertising industry is doing. This is how we can ensure that a place is preserved for upcoming PR and reputation management practitioners like you who are studying towards a career in the field. The days of press agents disguising as PR and reputation management practitioners are over.”
Going further, he says: “We must raise the bar of excellence in practice. Media Relations is just an aspect of what we do. It is not a synonym for PR.”
Speaking on behalf of the students, Adenike Adegbite says: “We thank Chain Reactions for walking its talk with a practical demonstration of the company’s commitment to the idea of Triple Bottomline Reporting which it has taught us here today.”
