Cerelac Sachet Posts Low Shelf Presence

Several months after hitting the markets with 50g sachets of Golden Morn, M2 open market survey reveals that food giant Nestle Nigeria Plc, may have followed suit with the same sachet sizes for its flagship baby cereal brand, Cerelac.

A few traders who spoke to M2 claim that the product has been in the market for some time. Along post office road at Oshodi, one of the few locations where it was found, Julius Okeke, a trader says he can not recall exactly when he stocked the sachet Cerelac but avers that, “It has been a while.” He also adds that “patronage for it has not been encouraging as it is still largely unknown to many people.” Its conspicuous shelf absence in most markets visited seems to attest to this position.

Cerelac sachet comes in rolls of ten 50g packs and is available in 3 different flavours which are orange, apple and banana. A sachet sells at N40 while a rolls, goes for N400.
