Capri-Sonne Matches On

Despite their cheaper prices, newer brands of fruit juice drinks in 200ml packs are yet to impact on the large market share of Capri-Sonne, a longer standing brand on the stables of Chi Ltd, last week’s M2 weekly open market survey reveals.
The survey which aimed to know how the market stands in view of the increasing number of fruit drinks in that category further reveals that Capri-Sonne still controls the largest market share of which children of school age are said to constitute its bulk.
In most shops visited at various markets during the survey, Capri-Sonne was found to enjoy appreciable shelf presence.
At Oja Oba Morufu International Market, Ejigbo, Mrs. Kemi Badru explained that fruit drinks in that category are largely loved not just by children of school age but also by lots of adults and, “Capri-Sonne has been there for long before the other brands joined; so consumers are already used to it,” she submitted.
Other traders who spoke to M2 confirmed that Capri-Sonne remains the brand to beat. At Ogba market, Mrs. Uchechi Maxwell noted that Capri-Sonne is hardly out of supply and because consumers generally refer to fruit drinks in that category as Capri-Sonne whenever they want to buy one, it is always available.
