BusinessDay Launches Inspiring Women Series
In its bid to provide a platform for knowledge sharing among upwardly mobile and career focused women from all spheres of life, BusinessDay will on the 29th of July hold the maiden edition of the Inspiring Woman Series under the theme ‘Our Success: The Untold Stories’. The series is an offshoot of the newspaper’s Inspiring Woman column anchored by Kemi Adejumobi.
In a chat with M2, Adejumobi, who doubles as programme coordinator, explains the reason for the initiative. “Inspiring Woman was published for the first time in December 2007, and since then we have been featuring women who have had the courage to succeed in their chosen career. We thought it would be a nice idea to bring some of the women we have featured and many others together so they could interact and provide an opportunity for young aspiring women to learn from them and share business ideas.” She discloses that the series, among other issues, will address the pressing needs of contemporary African women to inspire the younger generation.
Speakers are Hannah Tetteh, Minister of Trade and Industry, Ghana; Doyin Abiola, Chairman, Integrated Microfinance Bank; Yemisi Ayeni, Managing Director, Shell Nigeria Pension Fund, Lagos; Sola Adeoti, former MD, City Express Bank; Yewande Zacchaeus, MD Eventful Ltd; and Funke Osibodu, MD, Union Bank of Nigeria.
The event will hold at Terra Kulture, Victoria Island, Lagos.
