Zain Nigeria Partners ION for International Film Festival

The forth coming 6th edition of ION International Film Festival, scheduled to hold between 9th and 12th December 2009 in the Garden city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State Nigeria, received a big boost recently with the announcement of leading telecommunications company, Zain, as the official telecoms company to the festival.

According to Caterina Bortolussi, Creative Director of Omcomm and producer of ION International Film Festival, Zain’s involvement reflect the company’s strong alignment with the goals of IONIFF Port Harcourt 09 to promote peace and global awareness through arts, culture and entertainment.

Shamel Hanafi, Chief Commercial Officer, Zain Nigeria, said that Zain’s sponsorship of the first ever ION International Film Festival in the continent is a testament of the company’s commitment to promoting talent development in young and emerging talents in the country through different entertainment programmes, therefore fulfilling its promise of a wonderful world. 

Shamel also stated that Zain subscribers can be a part of the festival by texting ION to the short code 33541, to win an all expense paid trip to Port Harcourt to participate at the International Film Festival.
