Zain, MTV Uncover Performers for MAMA

Zain and MTV have unveiled the line-up of artistes expected to perform at the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA).
Sources have it that the Artistes to perform at the event include Wahu (2008 best female artiste), Lira (South Africa) and Samini from Ghana.
On the home front, Nigeria is represented in the line up by new hip hop artiste, M.I (Mister Incredible).
Speaking on the unveiling, Alex Okosi, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, MTV Networks Africa said: “We are very excited to bring such a distinguished and dynamic artiste line-up to the 2009 MTV Africa Music Awards with Zain. These artistes exemplify the best that Africa has to offer and demonstrate the extraordinary range and quality of the continent’s contemporary musicians.”
On the same hand, Norman Moyo, Group Marketing Director, Zain International said that “Zain is thrilled that the talents of Wahu, M.I., Samini and Lira will be gracing the MTV Africa Music Awards with Zain. The presence of these artistes will guarantee a stunning and memorable music spectacle in Nairobi on October 10.”
The second edition of the MTV Africa Music Awards with Zain will take place at the Indoor Arena, Moi International Sports Complex, Nairobi, Kenya on 10 October 2009. The TV show of the awards will broadcast on TV channels around the world from 17 October 2009, including MTV base (DStv Channel 322, Daarsat) and terrestrial channels Citizen TV (Kenya), WBS (Uganda), TBC 1 (Tanzania), TV3 (Ghana), STV (Nigeria) and AIT (Nigeria).
