The Figurine Premieres in October, Receives Cinemas’ Support

entertaiment-1The movie, The Figurine, which will be premiered in October, has received the support of major cinemas in Africa. According to Mr Wem Jacobs, Silverbird Film Distribution representative, the film industry in Nigeria is an exportable product which needs to be embraced by the press, the cinemas and film distributors.

“After five minutes of previewing ‘The Figurine’ movie, we were willing to work with the makers of the film. We are very proud to associate with Kunle Afolayan,” he said.

Speaking at the press screening, held last week in Lagos, Kunle Afolayan, the director of ‘The Figurine’ commended the effort of the dedicated team who worked effortlessly at making the movie world class.

“We are going to be running on the cinema platform for a while. We are targeting the major cinemas in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ghana and Kenya. We are also going back to the days of Alarinjo theatre, where film shows will be taken round the schools,” he said.

He also appreciated the sponsors, partners, and his mentor, Mr Tunde Kelani, who he said worked on the project, as well as Mic Com Golf Resorts that first reportedly flew with the project.

The Figure movie, which cost 50 million naira to produce, will be premiered in Ozone Cinemas, Genesis Deluxe Cinemas, and Silverbird Cinemas in Lagos, Port Harcourt, as well as Odeon Cinemas in London.
