Royal Rumble Contest Holds amidst Fanfare
As part of its child right initiatives in aid of less privileged children in society, Weep Not Child Foundation, in collaboration with the Catholic Youth Organisation of Nigeria (CYON) recently held “The Royal Rumble Contest”, which was put together “to help the less privileged children regain their smile.”
The contest, which took place at the Sacred Heart Parish in Ojota, Lagos produced a queen, a king, a prince and a princess. It also produced a Mister and Miss CYON. The deserving winners were indeed full of smiles as various prizes were handed out to them. But that was not all. The event itself provided the perfect opportunity to show many less privileged children how much they matter to society, aside the numerous consolation prizes that were given to different participants. It was also a thrilling time for the people who came to watch the pageant.
The contest was preceded by a charity walk and visitations to the Red Cross Orphanage and other orphanages, where donations were made to the children.
Weep Not Child Foundation is the pet project of Miss Sandra Iwu, 2007/08 Miss Galaxy International.
The contest was supported by Coca Cola, OK Foods, Indomie Nodules, Power Horse, Zinox Computers, Apple Cosmetics, among others.
