Playcentre, Smirnoff Ice Gear Up For Face Off ’09

It happened for the first time ever in Nigeria on November 1st 2008. The Expo Hall of the Ocean View Restaurant was filled with fun lovers who were eager to see their favourite celebrities show skills at the game of basket ball. ‘Face Off’ as it is tagged was popularly adjudged a unique show that gave Lagos another air of entertainment.
Playcentre, the entertainment company behind the event, had assured Nigerians that the event will be a yearly one and just when questions are coming up as to when the event will hold, the event company has declared that the event will hold at the International Conference Centre Abuja on October 24th 2009.
The Managing Director of Playcentre, Olatunde Michaels, said that the entertainment firm is putting its acts together to ensure that Face Off 2009 blows the mind of fun lovers beyond expectation. Michaels said the second edition is being packaged to give fun lovers a more thrilling experience they can not yet imagine.
Last year’s edition of the show was a pack of fun as A-rated artistes like D banj, Banky W, Don Jazzy, Basket Mouth, and several others engaged The Islanders, a professional Basket ball team in a friendly match. To the chagrin of the audience, the artistes thrashed the Islander on their game. Amidst the basket ball contest were musical performances by top artistes and the teeming audience were given the chance to show their skill in a singing competition.
It has also been confirmed that Smirnoff Ice, which added colour to last year’s event, is also sponsoring this year event in a grander style.
