Onwenu, Timaya Rock MTN Festival
As the MTN Nigerian Music Festival moves to Owerri participants at the Lagos leg of the event still have a lot to talk about the show which lined up 28 artistes from all ages and various genre of music.
The line up of artiste looked like the old, present and future of Nigerian music and they included Highlife legend, Sir Victor Uwaifo and Onyeka Onwenu, Fatai Rolling Dollar, Christy Essien-Igbokwe, Harry Mosco Agada, Afro Juju maestro, Sir Shina Peters others included. Reggae acts like Ras Kimono, Daniel Wilson, Oritz Wiliki, Esse Agese represented the artistes of the 90s, while African China, Timaya, DJ Zeez, Lil’H, Olu Maintain, Wande Coal, past and incumbent winner of the MTN Project Fame West Africa, Inyanya and Mike Anyasodo.
Speaking during the event which was held at Oceanview, General Manager, Consumer Marketing, MTN Nigeria, Mr Kola Oyeyemi, expressed delight at the massive turn-out of artistes and music lovers, saying that it showed how much Nigerians were passionate about music.
“MTN connects to the passion of Nigerians in order to ensure that we enrich their lives. So with the MTN Nigerian Music Festival, we are enriching the lives of Nigerians in terms of entertainment by bringing excitement and fun into their lives,” he said.
The event which is organized by Soni Irabor’s Ruyi Communication, moves to Owerri November 28. And Irabor has assured that the Owerri leg of the event will witness as much artistes in attendance as that of Lagos and that further efforts would be made in terms of organisation to ensure that Nigerians are treated to an experience of a life time.
