M.I, Cobhams Partner Hennessy

Hennessy, the world’s bestselling Cognac, last week Tuesday, at Saipan Bar and Restaurant, V.I, unveiled hip-hop whiz kid, M.I and veteran producer, Cobhams as partners of the third annual edition of the acclaimed Hennessy Artistry Musical Challenge Project. Other partners teaming up with Hennesssy are five of Nigeria’s best music producers which include Jesse Jagz, Knighthouse, Dokta Frabz and Mr. Daz, with each producer selecting an artist from his repertoire to be the next big thing in the Nigeria music scene. The artistes are Bez (for Cobhams), Ice Prince (for Jesse Jagz), Mo’Cheddah (for Knighthouse), Jimmy Flames (for Dr. Frabz) and Blaise (for Mr. Daz). The show, which kicks off on September 10th at Saipan Bar, is schedule to hold four times in September. Other venues include the Volar on September 11th, Q Club on September 18th and Nu Grotto on September 19. The four shows According to Mr. Ade Aladeyelu, the project Manager, would be the pre-cursors to an exclusive Grand Finale scheduled to hold on Friday September 25th at The Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island.
Hiphop World Awardee, M.I, takes to the Hennessy Artistry stage as the headliner and Chief host for the Grand Finale night, amidst the who is who of the Nigeria entertainment industry, to declare one of the 5 artistes to battle for the crown as the winner of Hennessy Artistry 2009.
The ‘Global art of mixing’, which the 2009 edition of the musical challenge and urban Urban-Music Concert is tagged, is part of Hennessy’s global urban music initiative which has brought music stars such as Kanye West, Ne-yo, Wyclef Jean, LL Cool J, Ashanti and other award winning musicians around the world to the Hennessy stage.
