charlyTwo things are bound to change come May 29, 2009 as Nigeria commemorates a decade of civil rule.

One, Super-Eagles plays the Republic of Ireland in an international friendly. Win or loose, Coach Shuaibu Amodu must change tactics if Nigeria must be at the 2010 World Cup.

The other change is the Change Concert – an unusual concert planned for Abuja , at the Dome, from 6pm till dawn, involving tireless Charly Boy, who leads over 10 artistes to a concert, which is expected to usher in a time of positive change in Nigeria and for Nigerians.

Powered by Project New Nigeria (an emerging grassroots movement) the Change Concert is inspired as a free concert to entertain and motivate Nigerians towards making Nigeria a better nation.

Says Charly Boy, “The Change Concert won’t be an occasion to let out howls of anguish about the condition of the Nigerian State : we will sing; we will dance; we will party; and we will do three other things. First, everybody at the concert will be motivated to rise above the current apathy arising from flawed electioneering process and participate fully in governance.

“Subsequently, we will encourage behavioural change, especially as it affects our social and civic responsibilities. Our stand is: ‘the change we seek must begin with us.’”

Nigga Raw, Soul-E, Zakky Azzay, Styl-Plus, and Esther (Chinwe Ike) top the list of Music stars on the bill, while Klint Da Drunk and Funkiest Mallam are set to crack ribs at the strategic concert featuring Kate Henshaw-Nuttal, Segun Arinze, Hilda Dokubo, Bob Manuel-Udokwu, Maurine Ihua, Jim Iyke, Stephnora Okere, and Mercy Johnson.
