AGN Suspends Ejike Asiegbu
Ejike Asiegbu, the former president of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN), has been suspended from the AGN and its activities. This decision was arrived at in a meeting held recently at the National Secretariat of the guild in Lagos.
Ejike who was not present at the meeting was said to have laughed over the issue and called those who took the decision against him as “unserious people.”
The meeting which took several hours before a resolute decision was taken had Kanayo O. Kanayo, the acting president, Carles Okafor, Emeka Ike, Florence Onuma, Chigozie Atunya, Segun Arinze and others in attendance.
The members of AGN have over time not had a good relationship with Ejike Asiegbu who had been holding on to power for more than 8 years. He also amended the constitution to favour some elements such as his tenure elongation, which has been rejected by the members, hence the battle for supremacy which has rocked the association.
