One of the leading lights in Nigeria ’s music industry, Tuface Idibia, has come a long way. Call him an international star and you are not very far from the truth. Last week, 2Face fete the media to kick of a round of activities that will mark a decade of his music career. Giving out his speech during the occasion, the multiple award-winning artiste exuded a new streak of confidence that seems to have eluded him in the recent past, especially in the face of the not-too-good press he has been receiving regarding his dealings with women which has resulted to his fathering five children from three different mothers. “Ask any questions you like, any questions at all, and I will answer it,” Tuface beckoned on members of the press present.

Referring to himself as a proud father of five children, he explained that all three mothers of his kids are his friends with whom he has had wholesome relationships with at one point in time or the other. In all, it was obvious that artiste is now getting some real professional advice, and has decided to work to protect his brand which was being eroded by criticisms of his person.

Recalling his days in the Plantation Bois, TuFace said: “You guys actually made me. So I also invite you all to follow me as I move along.” He used the occasion to unveil his new found-relationship with Now Music, who are now his managers. Efe Omorogbe, the company’s CEO noted that the parley was just one in a series of events, maintaining that they considered it vital because “the media is our mouthpiece.”

Tuface, in unveiling the managers said, “Let me seize this opportunity to formally present to the world, my new management, Now Muzik. Henceforth, they will be solely representing me in all business and sundry transactions.”

The world famous artiste used the occasion to appreciate all that supported his rise to stardom – producers, record label executives, managers, promoters, colleagues, fans and the media, “without whom much of what I create or perform will not circulate beyond a few blocks within my neighborhood.”

In his words, “It’s been one heck of a ride. I have struggled and I have faltered. I’ve hit highs and I’ve seen lows. I’ve kept faith, I’ve worked hard, I’ve lost battles and I’ve won wars. Through it all, ten years on, I’m still riding high.”

Omorogbe revealed that the management had put many plans in place to celebrate the landmark. He said: “On June 20, in Abuja , we’ll be staging a befitting concert to mark the anniversary. Fly Time Entertainment will also host a special event in Lagos on a date to be announced soon. We have an exciting package for deejays too. There’s also the Tuface Idibia Reach-Out Foundation, a charity organization that will be raising funds to assist other charity organisations’ service to humanity with special bias for youth empowerment.” We will be kicking off with all this.

Tuface is already running a football club, which he calls Hypertek Football Club and would be rolling off a host of other activities as part of his giving back to the society that made him.
